Learning Happens Everywhere

Truly Differentiated Instruction

Target Audience:   K-12 Teachers, Department Chairs, Curriculum Coordinators, School and District Administrators

Length of Time:   OPTIONS: Half Day, Single Day, Multiple Day

Description

Truly differentiated instruction stems from the premise that an individual accesses knowledge in a unique way. We need to harness that intelligence and allow each child to use his/her strengths to learn and succeed. The task of education is to identify the goal, use the individual’s strength as the path to that goal and in that way, instruction is truly differentiated. This approach is not as daunting as it may seem and together we can work to use the CCSS standards and some creative approaches to find truly individual and unique paths to educate our students.

Participants will
  • Explore concepts of differentiation
  • Assess sample curriculum materials
  • Consider and differentiate their own curriculum
