In this workshop, participants will be shown a holistic way to teach grammar, drawing on language from usage in writing and text.

Rather than itemize and atomize, this proven method works because it looks at how English is actually used by students–as readers and writers and also embraces the quirks and irregularities that seem to be the rule rather than the exception.

Participants will:

• Examine samples of student work
• Acquire and Assess sample curriculum materials
